Review of From Justin to Kelly (2003) by Peggy A — 12 May 2012

I love Kelly Clarkson and Anika Noni Rose, and I tend to like movie musicals, so really this has to be awful for me not to like it. It had so much in it's favor. Unfortunately, the music is forgettable, the plot is forced, the relationships make no sense (Why would the two cool club promoters hang out with the biggest nerd since Skippy on "Family Ties?" Why would nice girls Kelly and Anika hang out with such an evil, mean girl?) The scenes are so choppy, it seems like there wasn't a script before filming and they just tried to piece together scenes after the fact.

And, I hate to say something bad about Kelly, I love her, but wow, she is not a good actor! I hope she doesn't do another movie before taking some classes. Even the make-up was bad in this movie - everyone's skin looked terrible! Why wasn't that cleaned up? I was always curious about this movie, and I thought, "It can't be as bad as I've heard it is.

" Well, yes it can. Skip this one!
