Review of From Here to Eternity (1953) by Anton B — 05 Dec 2009
From Here to Eternity is a best picture-winning film based on a novel by the same name. In the film there's a guy in the army played by Montgomery Clift who used to be a good boxer but won't box in the army for reasons revealed later. Everyone is mean to him because of that. There's some other people that play important roles and it all leads up to the attack on Pearl Harbor at the end of the film.
This film won 8 Oscars including best picture. Personally, I didn't like this at all. I watched this with another person and they also thought it was ridiculously boring so it's not just me. I was expecting to like this going in, but just couldn't find myself interested in the characters. The ending was better, but that doesn't make up for everything else.
65/100.
