Review of From Hell (2001) by Branden W — 04 Nov 2012
An interesting adaptation of Stephen Knight's 1976 novel, 'Jack the Ripper: The Final Solution'. Now a debunked theory, Alan Moore's graphic novel comes to life in riveting detail in grand fashion.
There are hundreds of Jack the Ripper theories to date, but in this particularly unique perspective, Inspector Abberline envisions the murders through opium dreams (as well as Absinthe hallucinations).
Heather Graham is pristinely gorgeous, the story flows as smoothly as the graphic novel, and turn of the century London provides the background to an eternally unsolved serial killing conspiracy.
