Review of From Hell (2001) by Martin D — 05 May 2010

Different from the book and i'm not sure why they made the changes they did - it didn't improve the story in my eyes.

For those not familiar with the story it's about jack the ripper and who it might have been (as no one really knows). I think the film was relying too much on being flashy. anyway, the book was better. depp and ian holm give good performances but are caught up in a mediocre slasher film.
