Rodriguez put together a great love letter to exploitation films. He even cast Fred Williamson of 70s Blaxploitation cinema and horror effects master Tom Savini as vampire killing badasses. This is one of the few Rodriguez movies I truly enjoy.
Much credit goes to Tarantino for writing a good enough script for Rodriguez not to screw up.
