Review of From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) by Dann M — 13 Oct 2012
Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez team up for the vampire thriller From Dusk Till Dawn. Written by Tarantino, a pair of bank robbers on a killing spree kidnap a family and take shelter in a Mexican bar that turns out to be a vampire den.
The cast is quite impressive, and includes George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis, and Quentin Tarantino. However, the vampire plot is awkwardly forced into the last act; taking the film in a completely different direction.
Additionally, there's no consistency to the vampires and the script plays fast and loose with the rules that govern them. From Dusk Till Dawn is a satirical B-movie that doesn't have a clear direction.
