Review of From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) by Adrian Z — 03 Apr 2013

Usually, I don't care for mindless, gore-fest horror movies and sometimes despise them. This one felt really fresh. It had plenty of comedy and gore and an interesting story to pull it together. The casting was perfect and putting two genres that are really different, the vampire movie and crime drama, together, works really well. I seriously didn't expect to like it this much but it my be my new favorite horror movie.

And that was my reaction to the first time I saw it. This movie is perfect. It's a great action/horror/comedy. It's a crime thriller and then it's a horror movie and it works so well. That's mostly because of strong performances from George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino and also a script from Tarantino and, to top it off, direction by Robert Rodriguez. The effects are groundbreaking as well. Now I know it's my favorite horror movie.
