Review of From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) by Jesse M — 11 Oct 2014
I'm not gonna review the film, it's a blast from start to finish with a star making performance from Clooney.
I'm more going to address the idiotic reasoning behind some of these negative reviews for this film.
Is this movie an odd hybrid of two genres? Yes. Is it disjointed? Eh, slightly. Are both sides of this b-movie coin very shiny and good looking? Absofuckinglutely. It was a fantastic crime caper, that shifted gears into a fantastic vampire slaughterfest horror film. So really, as disjointed as it is, were you guys not still fucking entertained??
I mean that's just criticism for the sheer sake of criticism. It's like a juicy cheeseburger suddenly turning into a nice greasy pepperoni pizza... It may not have been what you were initially eating, but for damned sure you're gonna eat it any damn way right? because both are delicious in their own way. So shut the fuck up already and quit your bitchin.
So that's my rant, the movie doesn't pretend to be more than a grindhouse style exploitation film. It just embraces it and excells at being one of the finest of its kind.
