Review of From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) by Justin L — 26 Jun 2011
What I loved about this film was how it marketed itself as a horror film, but them lulls you into thinking it's not, and then surprises the crap out of you when the vampires reveal themselves. It's really good stuff, and one of Robert Rodriguez's best films.
It's a cinematic treat that's absolutely dripping with B-movie pulpiness and sometimes cheesy effects. Tarantinos' script and acting are both solid, as is the entire casts performances. I also really loved the bat-shit crazy vampire designs.
They can be really sexy in Salma Hayek's case, or, more often than not, visually disturbing. It's definitely one of my favorites.
