Review of From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) by Phillip C — 17 Mar 2013
Quentin Tarantino writes (and acts) while Robert Rodriguez directs, which is a very interesting combination as the movie seems one half Tarantino and one half Rodriguez. The first half of the film reminds me a lot of "Pulp Fiction", with George Clooney carrying the load is the crime drama part of the film.
The vampires don't show up until about halfway in, where the movie becomes more reminiscent of a campy-on-purpose Rodriguez movie like "Planet Terror". Clooney is absolutely fantastic, and it really makes you wonder why Tarantino doesn't act more often, as he is very good also.
This movie is a blast, watch it.
