Review of From Beyond (1986) by Nick H — 30 Sep 2007
This was my most anticipated DVD release of the year, and it's exceeded my expectations. While it's not the immortal classic that is Re-Animator, From Beyond is an excellent follow-up to that movie.
What I really liked about it was how it took Lovecraft's short story and essentially expanded upon it, using the short story as the pre-title sequence and then filling in what happens afterward. My only complaint is how rubbery the monsters look, but I guess that's part of its charm.
