Review of From Beyond (1986) by Dan F — 10 Jan 2013
Bahahahaha!!! Sticky, grotesque and full of intriguing possibilities that it never fully realises. The film is fully aware that it's a joke, which undermines Lovecraft's rather sparse short on which this is based.
It's meant to be fun, gooey fun. But it doesn't quite repeat the success with which Re-Animator contemporised a piece of century old literature that was much of its time.
