Review of From Beyond (1986) by Kurt M — 09 Aug 2007
Another bonafide classic 1980's horror movie that combines terror and sex.
It's true that humans are easy prey.
When it comes to heightening the sex drive we are powerless and unknown of what lies from the unknown and great beyond.
Combs as Crawford hopes to discover the secret behind the mind of dimensions while Crampton as a psychiatrist attempts to understand the Resonator's nature.
But the relentless and ruthless Pretorious has a darker ambition to blend his mind into others to become more powerful.
Featuring grotesque but wonderful practical special effects and gore, the same makers of 'Re-Animator' make a film about the horror of scientific curiosity and our fragile psychosis.
It's slick, disgusting, pretty deep and psychologically breaking.
