Review of From Beyond (1986) by Lee B — 26 Apr 2011
This movie doesn't really carry on the Re-Animator mood and "tradition". It really is a supernatural horror movie instead of a gory suspense movie. Although there is gore, but it is tempered with cheesy CGI (even for its time) and things that don't seem to be based in something that can be related to since it is from another dimension. I guess it is a blob and bug dimension.
This one doesn't have the scares or suspense of others and I am confident in myself but I don't need to see Ken Foree in water action scenes in only his speedos. And the S&M stuff seemed a little forced. Plus an oddly specific, yet ambiguous when you think about it, ending. Overall, not the fun kind of movie it should be.
