Review of Frogs (1972) by Roland J — 19 Apr 2008
Low-Budget 'Eco-Horror' film from the 1970's that featured Ray Milland in his last film role and a young Sam Elliot as the hero (before he had his moustache, even!) about a rich industrialist who's been dumping chemicals in the swamp around his family mansion--those chemicals are making the local animal life smarter and more aggressive--the animals start laying siege (??!) to the industrialist's home and trying to pick off the family one by one and....
Not much of a plot, and what is there is basically an excuse to have scenes of animals attacking humans in increasingly absurd ways. So you have the water-snake attack, the poison lizards(?) the worst scene of spiders attacking a man in the history of cinema, death by snapping turtle, and a climactic confrontation between Ray Milland and an army of frogs.
The scenery is very nice.
