Review of Fritz the Cat (1972) by Kyle V — 23 Oct 2010
I'm really not sure if this is blatant exploitation or if it actually has a valid point. BUt, there are some great moments in animation and it overall has a feeling of "cool" to it. On the other hand, this is not exactly a Disney Classic. The film is filled with moral depravity, although I kind of feel that it was supposed ot fit in with the point of the film, but there were some moments of unnecesarry nudity that I can't figure out whether or not its a statement or exploitation.
For the most part though, this isn't a cartoon for everyone. DEFINATELY not. In fact, this film is worse than A Clockwork Orange in terms of "crossing the lines". But, for the open minded and lovers of animation this full is brusting full of color and art in terms of the actual animation. While out-dated, there are still some brilliant moments in animation that probably will never see the light of day again.
