Review of Fright Night (2011) by Stephen S — 04 Apr 2012
Pretty cool, especially considering that this is a remake. I like the original, but it's one of those films that's seriously stuck in the '80s (if you've seen it, u know what I mean). I like this version more actually--I mean there's some stuff wrong with it.
..Colin Farrell is disturbingly creepy throughout the film--sometimes this works well and u can see him as a vampire, but when it fails, he just ends up looking like a rapist. I also just don't like Fogel being here either.
..he does a good job, but I feel that he just gets annoying after awhile. The rest of the cast is really good though: Anton Yelchin is a nice pick, so is the girl from 28 Weeks Later, and David Tennant is pretty funny as Peter Vincent.
All in all, a nice update of a cult horror film--good story, great action, check this out!
