Jerry? That is a terrible vampire name.

Charley Brewster lives with his mother in a small suburban town. A strange neighbor named Jerry moves next door and a rash of strange murders start springing up all over town. Charley instantly assumes his new neighbor is responsible and starts snooping around his house. Will Charlie uncover the killer, piss off his neighbor, or both?

"Girls made you lazy in the head. Pussy will do that.".

Craig Gillespie, director of Mr. Woodcock, Lars and the Real Girl, and the upcoming Trooper, delivers Fright Night. The storyline for this picture is fairly standard for the genre and delivers little new content that separates this picture in the vampire genre. The acting is just average and the cast includes Collin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, David Tennant, Toni Collette, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

"You think I?m hanging out with Dracula and the Easter Bunny? Fuck off!".

I was actually excited to see this remake when the first previews aired but was a bit turned off when the initial reviews came out. After seeing this picture I can see why this film received bad reviews. Each character was a step down from the characters in the original and I?m not sure why they went with a Chris Angel look for Peter Vincent. Overall, I recommend skipping this picture.

"Welcome to Fright Night for real.".

Grade: C-.
