I finally decided to give this movie a chance, and boy, was I not at all surprised at how awful it was. I enjoyed the original, but this was just a POS. The SFX were so poorly done in comparison to the original (why do movies keep thinking CGI trumps real make-up work?).
I think I could have dealt with a lot of the crap if not for the deux ex machina of the blessed bullshit stake. Awful, awful, awful. I was even more disappointed than I thought I would be.
