It lacks the quaint suburban charm and stylishness of the 1985 original, as well as Chris Sarandon's fun take on the vampire baddie, Roddy McDowell, and the pulsing '80s soundtrack, but this new incarnation is a good time largely because of Anton Yelchin's sympathetic performance as Charlie.
