(2011) Firght Night.

HORROR.

Based on the 1983 film of the same name which is a remake worst than it's predecessor with Malcom McDowell. And while the set up is the same using the some of the same names with the 'I think my neighbor is a vampire', the major difference between the two films is that theirs less common sense and more CGI used than the original.

The set up has geek friend trying to convince Charly who want to distance away from him just because he isn't cool enough blah blah blah that the neighbor is really a vampire. He succeeds to convince Charly to join him with this theory by attempting to blackmail him by showcasing some old pictures. This community of houses by the way is also conveniently far away from the actual city where they're no policeman or firemen present or any stores for that matter - it's basically one of those rare neighborhoods where the law enforcement isn't much of a factor since it's almost isolated somewhere in the desert, and that teenagers have to drive miles on a deserted highway to get to the nearest school. And it's also a convenient way for a vampire to reside who is being played by Colin Ferrell since if an explosion were to happen their would be no fire truck to put the fire out and as far as policeman is concerened- they're absolutely worthless here for they don't even call their radio frequency for help. And then theirs the CGI, lots of it especially toward the end which might look great if it's seen through a projector but not while watching it on HDTV. One of the major problems is that upon a vampire taking out a whole family or an only son or daughter, the presence of the police are almost absent on here for all they do is ask and then leave again. Both family, friends, assiliants and co workers don't appear nor show up anywhere like work for instance- not one person file a 'missing report' except a floozy is ridiculous and unrealistic. No police check ups in their home of residence- not even an investigation makes it way too easy for a serial killer to reside to let alone a vampire. To me it's just too dumb.

2 out of 4.
