Review of Fright Night (1985) by Sean C — 26 Oct 2009
I had such a laugh seeing this back at a preview screening back in the mid Eighties that my fondness for the movie all these years later remains undiminished. In fact, given half the chance any guest that happens my way will find this baby stuck into my DVD player the moment they answer 'No, I havent seen it.
' It's fun, it's dated, the Eighties score is wonderfully dodgy, the pacing is spot on, Chris Sarandon rocks as the vampire next door and the whole thing is a perfect warm-up for any horror fest you plan for Halloween.
Im even looking forward to the remake, it's too good a movie for them to ruin, isnt it?
