Entertaining horror comedy about a high school kid who has a vampire move in next door. The kid enlists the help of a horror movie actor and local tv host to kill the monster. The film has some interesting performances, like Stephen Geoffreys as Evil Ed, a truly strange and kind of creepy character, and Amanda Bearse from Married With Children turns up as the hero's girlfriend, who the vampire sets his sights on.

I've always had a hard time accepting her in this, I keep expecting Al Bundy to walk on and insult her. Chris Sarandon is quite good as the vampire, he seems to be having a great time with the role.

There are some nifty effects and prosthetics, and I loved how the vampire's house always looks scary with fog coming off it at all times in the middle of suburbia.
