Review of Friends with Money (2006) by Michael D — 02 Nov 2007
A more pessimistic movie and by the end, you're left thinking "What the hell just happened?" but it's a unique "What the hell just happened"...not the every day "What the hell just happened" like you get from "Master of Disguise" or "The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
" If anything, the movie is worth a reccomendation for Jennifer Aniston's Oscar-worthy performance. When all the other characters seem like they couldn't get any flatter, Aniston makes up for it with her charm, realness, and incredible control that dominates and leads the film to an overall victory.
It's also very touching and realistic. Some situations seemed to be a bit coincidental (for instance, how every time one character comes in contact with another man, that man happens to hit on them SOLELY for the benefit of the curiosity of character development.
) But in the end, its an interesting character study piece with....interesting direction that can be appriciated or scorned, I see a case for either. See it for Aniston.
