Review of Friends with Money (2006) by Rebecca S — 22 Nov 2007
Ok the guy below quoting Faulkner:
1) Faulkner was quoting Shakespeare.
2) It was to describe his own fantastic and groundbreaking novel, The Sound and the Fury.
And to call these people idiots is just ridiculous. They are intelligent, likeable human beings... but they live in the real world, where you don't always get to prove yourself by solving a government conspiracy or having the love affair of a lifetime.
This film wonderfully depicts the frustrations of modern urban existence... The characters are funny, smart, flawed and complex. I like this film. It's not perfect. It is slow, or a little silly, at times. But overall it doesn't deserve the negativity it has gotten... It makes some great observations, presents some hilarious scenes, and contains some excellent performances...
