Review of Friends with Kids (2012) by Kevin C — 04 Aug 2012
Began with a somewhat interesting and different premise but revealed itself to be a generic romcom halfway through. The beginning premise of two cynical New Yorkers who want to have a child but to do so without a romantic relationship was somewhat novel.
The cast was also interesting and seemed at first to be quirky and brimming with honesty. However, once the movie started questioning it's original premise, it quickly turned towards the usual schtick.
The movie also began to rely on corny and squeamish new parent comedy parlor tricks such as 'baby who takes a crap everywhere and disgusts everyone including the viewer'. Overall, could have been much better.
