Review of Friends with Kids (2012) by Scott C — 05 Jan 2013
Try Kissing Jessica Stein for a more original rom-com...this one falls mostly flat. There are some tense and believable scenes, but overall the dialogue seems forced and unfunny (especially Adam Scott trying ever-so hard to be a misogynistic womanizer).
There are some fantastic and poignant scenes (the birthday scene in the restaurant and the dinner scene at the ski lodge come to mind), and Jennifer Westfeld has a real presence and is obviously a very talented writer and director, but I feel she missed a really great opportunity with this one.
