Review of Friends with Kids (2012) by Rabih H — 04 Apr 2013
"Friends with Friends" dances on the line of definition of what can be called a romantic comedy. While it has some funny moments, it's really hard to call it a comedy by any stretch. It's a cute romantic film, that has a couple of pauses throughout to lighten the mood.
Staring more or less the same excellent cast from "Brides Maids", the acting is top notch. Characters are fleshed out and deep. We end the movie generally caring about what happens to each one, if at a somewhat artificial level.
The film is light, and very easy to watch. It really doesn't require you to think any more than expected for this very datemovie-esque affair.
Not a bad film, but was I fooled a little into expecting a "funner" movie from the makers of Bride's Maids? A bit... but still very enjoyable.
PS: Runs a little long.
