Review of Fried Green Tomatoes (1991) by Jessica D — 22 Apr 2010
Amazing. Perhaps the best movie ever made? If not, it's real close. Everything is done perfectly, and is so inspiring, emotional, uplifting, sorrowful. All the cast, crew, everyone, did their job perfectly, there is not a flaw.
And the emotions, the chemistry between the two sets of lead actresses is genuine; this wasn't acting, this transcended acting, as Mary Stuart Masterson said. It is a film about love and friendship in all its forms, is a movie you just won't forget, and I cannot believe it took me almost twenty years to watch it.
