One of the most misleading titles in movie history, this film was highly touted as "the death of Jason". Well, you can't keep a profitable movie monster down, and Jason (and the franchise) quickly rose from the grave after the huge success of this fourth entry in the series. Jason stalks a vacationing group of teens in an isolated cabin in the woods (Where else?). The most intelligent character in the movie is young Tommy, played by a pre-teen Corey Feldman. He makes monster masks, rules at video games, and can even fix cars. But he remains as oblivious to the danger around him as the oversexed teens staying in the house next to his. The movie goes all out to treat the male viewers to an abundance of female eye candy. All of the girls in the movie are knockouts, and all have their own scenes that leave nothing to the imagination. The girls get a pre-Back To The Future Crispin Glover. Yeah, the guys got Playboy quality girls, and the ladies got George McFly. Who won THAT one? Of course all meet their ends in grisly ways that at the time, ended up changing the way these films were made. The movie was considered so violent in 1984, that the studio was forced to severly tone it down in the following movies. But the movie keeps the tension level high, and delivers the scares you'd expect.

Quality kill: Crispin Glover is delivered a painful one-two punch of a corkscrew to the hand, followed seconds later by a meat cleaver to the face.
