Review of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) by Stephen H — 29 Oct 2008
This ironically-named film is probably the weakest so far. The horny teenagers are so over-the-top they're pretty boring (having sex in the morgue practically on top of Jason's corpse? Come on, people! Oh, I know - let's throw in some promiscuous twins!) The dialogue is laughable - as in, one guy gets murdered by Jason and actually says "Oh my God, he's killing me!" Also, I was incredibly disappointed in the lack of the "Holy shit, Jason's coming!" music, as that theme is just about as recognizable as the "Halloween" theme, and pretty much as necessary for the movie to be awesome.
However, the movie was redeemed by Corey Feldman and his frenzied hacking up of Jason at the end, as well as the makeup effects on Jason, because he did look pretty cool.
