Review of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) by Luke B — 21 Jan 2009

Not the final chapter at all but a decent 4th outing for the franchise. Jason is back and certainly the Jason that is well known today. This entry sees two great performances from cult favourites Crispin Glover and Corey Feldman.

Glover shows off some wicked dance movements and Feldman is very believable in a very stupid film. The stupidity becomes hilarious with some things happening for no reason, such as a dog jumping out of a window.

Some things are just left unresolved, such as the fate of the mother. While some things just baffle the mind, with the main character deciding to stay in the house with the killer and smash her way out of a window, rather than step over the body on the doorstep.

Killings and gore galore courtesy of Tom Savini and we almost get a chance to know these characters. Like part 3 the constant "fake out" jump scenes just start to piss you off.
