This one was a lot like the part 3, only not quite as good. Some scenes were almost the same, to the extent that you can really see them coming (body thrown through a picture window that takes up most of the frame).

In my opinion the series got incrementally worse after the great original, though I have yet to re-watch the remaining ones since I saw them long ago. It was not as scary for one, and the horny geeky teens subplot was pretty bad, detracting from the suspense.

The other teens who were staying next door to the Jarvis family had even less developed characters. A reason to see the movie is Corey Feldman as Tommy Jarvis. Even though some of the things the filmmakers had Tommy do are laughable, he's still kind of a cool character, and one that appears in the next two Fridays as well.

The Final Chapter is both the third part of the trilogy within the series that is 2, 3, and 4, and the first part of that "Tommy Jarvis Trilogy. (2, 3, and 4 have a storyline that takes place within one week.

) Part 4 is also the last appearance of Jason before he becomes "undead" or "supernatural".
