Review of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) by Jason J — 16 Aug 2010
When I originally saw The Final Chapter there was no New Beginning or any of its endless sequels. The way that Tom Savini brutally killed off Jason there wasn't much doubt that this was going to get the end of it.
Little did we know that they were going to Frankenstein Jason for some more outings. Needless to say this is the last of the really good entries in the series. Nothing new but a relentless killing spree.
Savini's makeup work is great & the cast is likable. Corey Feldman could have made a career out of the character Tommy Jarvis (better then most of the shit he did). Maybe part 5 & 6 would have been a bit better if Feldman returned.
You also get Crispin Glover's kooky dance & the double wammy of getting a meat cleaver in the face & a cork screw in the hand. Lots of fun..Gobs of nudity. The More twins have a sweet set of patooties on them.
This used to be my favorite of the series but not over time. It still ranks highly though. The only question I have is what happened to Mrs Jarvis's body. Probably in the 6 minutes that were cut.
