Review of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) by Shawn B — 28 Nov 2012

HOW THE FUCK DID HE SURVIVE A FUCKING AXE TO THE HEAD FROM PART 3??!! I'm sorry, there's asking for suspension of disbelief like in the first 3 parts and then there's just straight up pulling shit out of your ass and hoping the audience doesn't challenge it, which is what happens in this movie A LOT! Not only does he survive, and let me repeat, AN AXE TO THE FUCKING HEAD, but he's also fine after constant hammer blows to the head, getting stabbed in the back of the neck by the hammer's sharp edge, getting sliced in the chest by the machete, and also A MACHETE TO THE FACE.

Well, it's clear. This guy's just unstoppable. I thought they made him out to be human, but no. He's just inexplicably superhuman. Also, the formula's getting really old. It still retained freshness when the other three did it it, but it's just predictable and boring now.

As well, this movie didn't really add much to the series. I mean, the first one started the series and created the formula; the second one introduced Jason; and the third one gave him his trademark hokey mask and machete.

This one's pretty much just a repeat of the third one. I mean, sure, they finally kill Jason in this one, but if they didn't do this sequel, it would've been assumed that he died in the third one from AN AXE TO THE FUCKING HEAD.

Also, the whole confrontation between Jason and the kid was just bullshit. So, you're telling me because he shaves his head that it reminds Jason of him as a boy and...you know what, I'm not even gonna finish that sentence, because it sounds incredibly ridiculous.

When the girl masqueraded as Jason's mom in the second one, that was ridiculous, too, but it was explained (not very well, but I give them credit for at least TRYING). This...I don't even know what they were going for.

Also, how come it takes a kid only like a MINUTE to shave his head when a normal haircut takes much longer? Come on! You're stretching this way too thin! So, in conclusion, THIS MOVIE SUCKS!!! This is the point when the Friday the 13th movies started going downhill.
