Review of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) by Ferdi A — 28 Dec 2014
Definitely an improvement over the mediocre Part 3 but not by long shot, I also thought that the story and characters weren't any better or even slightly memorable. Kimberly Beck (Trish) and Corey Feldman (Tommy) gave it their all and were much more likeable survivors than Dana Kimmell (Chris) in Part 3, even though the acting was pretty flawed at parts this time around.
The kills were creative and although the story starts being formulaic at this point in the franchise it didn't bore me. The soundtrack was great and the final act is somewhat surprising. I liked Part 2 and 7 much more as far as sequels go but this is a fun installment in the F13 franchise.
The directing was fine too and loved the 80's style and that the focus wasn't on Jason Voorhees the entire time, I just wish the characters were better written and developed.
