Review of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) by Cristiano T — 14 Feb 2009
One of the better Friday the 13th sequels, and the end of the first "set" of Friday films which attempted to continue the same story and remain legitimately frightening. This is one of the ones to check out if you are new to the series and just want a taste, as Jason is unusually intense in this one.
One kill in particular which occurs near the end of the film in the basement, and with very minimal lighting, is probably the most intense moment in the series for me, and showcases Jason at his most terrifying.
I found myself liking the stereotypical teens a bit more than usual, and the writing was more impressive than the average Friday film, even though that's still not saying much. If you're into these films, this is one of the good ones.
