Review of Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) by Chris W — 14 Feb 2009

My personal favourite of the Friday the 13th series, Part 8 sees Jason resurrected from his watery grave, stowing away on a cruise ship headed to New York and doing his usual routine of butchery. This is the first Friday film to be set away from Camp Crystal Lake, and it's more creative and interesting than the other 7 films combined.

We get death by Electric guitar, hot coals, mirror shards. Jason even punches someones head clean off! The funniest and most original of the Friday films. Jason doesn't exactly take Manhattan (only arriving in NY in the final 20 minutes), but this is still my favourite Friday the 13th film.
