"JASON VOORHEES IN THE BIG APPLE".

- 'Friday the 13th Part 8 - Jason Takes Manhattan' is a 1990 slasher film directed by Rob Hedden. The film is obviously the eight installment of the franchise surrounding Jason Voorhees, the hockey masked killer played by Kane Hodder (Freddy vs Jason, Hatchet). I confess that I have a soft spot for the genre, for me this movie is pure cheesy entertainment. To be honest, it lacks a lot of credibility and good acting. But what to expect from a movie where horny teenagers fall victim to a monstrous serial killer?

When a young couple drops the anchor of their boat, so they can make love, the anchor gets stuck on a electric wire on the bottom of the lake. This causes to reanimate the rotting corpse of local legend Jason Voorhees (Hodder), who immediately begins to kill again. The following morning, the SS Lazarus takes sail towards New York. On board is the graduating senior class of the Lakeview High School and their chaperoning teachers Charles McCulloh and Colleen Van Deusen. As the teenagers party on (including drugs and sex), another passenger gets on board. One by one, students begin to disappear...
