Review of Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) by Shawn A — 23 Jul 2009
When we last left Jason he was languishing in defeat back at the bottom of Crystal lake following losing his battle with repentant wife beating zombie dad from part 7...but with the end of the 80s in sight and partially thanks to some shoddy installation work on some electrical cables Jason is able to take after fellow 80s icon of many sequels Ernest and head on vacation...specifically to New York (though most of the movie is spent traveling there) Killing plenty more hapless teens and their middle aged guardians along the way. Be sure this time to watch out for the following...
Absolute bastard uncle Lionel Blair.
Steven Kings pen in blatant..that's going to come up later moment.
Jason's awesome right hook.
And finally Marvel at New york's amazing toxic waste that apparently floods the sewers every midnight and is more rejuvenating and effective at combating the signs of aging than those fools at olay will ever manage.
