Review of Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood (1988) by Chris R — 11 Jun 2013
'The New Blood' is a darker approach to the 'Friday' series after the lighter 'Jason Lives'. The film has a lot going for it: a good story, Kane Hodder as Jason, and the fact that our heroine this time around is a much more independent woman who attacks Jason back rather than running and screaming like usual.
The film's main flaw however, is that the special effects artists were unable to show off all of their great handiwork due to the MPAA. When a horror film can't show the horror, it's a big deal and unfortunately this film suffers for it.
Overall however, it's well worth a watch for any Jason fan or Horror fan.
