Review of Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood (1988) by Bill T — 09 Oct 2007
Interesting movie here, only because Jason Lives took the franchise to a whole new direction. Buechler takes it more into the horror genre, makes Jason meaner, which is interesting, but curiously, derives the movie of totally no suspense.
Instead of it being creepy, you are winding up with shot after short of Jason coming up to the victim and plowing them. Also Buechler plays around with the music which I'm not also fond of, giving the simple (yet effective) score a total overblaringness.
The story itself is quite silly (like all telekinisis movies are), but I do give Buechler the bonus points for making Jason terribly mean, but too bad it's lacking in the jolts.
