Review of Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood (1988) by Kevin H — 11 Apr 2009
Friday the 13th Part VII, while not as good as Part VI, is a serviceable entry into the Friday franchise and does provide us with some memorable moments and a chance for Kane Hodder to shine as Jason. Hodder is truly a monster of a man and is quite good in the role.
This film also features the infamous sleeping bag death, which is trimmed down to one hit on video but was six in the theatre. Terry Kiser is suitably sleazy in his role and meets his end in another great death scene.
The ending is a little cheesy but fits the overall supernatural feel of the film. A good but not great Friday the 13th film, The New Blood is worth a watch for Friday fans.
