Review of Friday the 13th Part VII - The New Blood (1988) by Kyle L — 21 Jul 2011

Friday The 13th Part 7 finally went back to its serious roots. Since part 6 was enjoyable and really good part 7 finally brought the series to its serious routiness. I really enjoyed all the Friday the 13th movies because I seriously like the first movie and the sequel 2 and 3 but I began to dislike the series after the first 3 were succesful because part 4 and 5 didn't do anything to bring the series to its serious roots but part 6 finally brought the franchise to its more serious roots and now this film is back.

I actually enjoyed The New Blood because the story is really interesting I mean the movie is like Carrie vs Jason because the main character has telekinesis powers just like in the Stephen King's adaptation based on his novel.

I really like the plot of this movie it was interesting so far and the kills were really good also. All the kills in this movie are a bit more interesting and they are super violent than the first six films.

I basically chose the Sleeping Bag death scene because Jason kills the girl in the sleeping bag by hitting her in the tree one to six times and the blood comes out of the bag every time Jason hits the girl rapidly in the tree oh and I also like the kill scene when Jason kills someone by throwing a knife and he pushed it even further to his body and the blood comes out of his mouth.

So far this is the best in the series along with Jason Lives. Director and Special effects artist John Carl Buechler finally brought the series back to its serious roots after part six was a success. The acting is also good so far.

Lar Park Lincoln was great for her performance as Tina the protagonist and Kane Hodder was so good for his performance as the serial killer Jason Voorhes and he is the true Jason Voorhes. Overall this movie gets a 10/10 because the movie has a very interesting plot.

More bloodier kills than the first six. Fantastic special effects and incredible directing by John Carl Buechler and Great acting from the casts.
