I'm no expert of the series, but the use of X-men style super-powers highlights that just like Jason himself the series just keeps coming back far too many times for it to be fun anymore. The vast majority of the run-time is quite dull, with only the end sequences worthy of any attention, and even then it's the same old Jason gets hurt, he gets up again, he gets hurt, he gets up again. The make-up of Jason's face is one of the few good points, but really this is very mild horror entertainment at best.
