Review of Friday the 13th Part III (1982) by Troy F — 16 Feb 2014
"THE KILLER OF CAMP CRYSTAL LAKE PART 3".
- 'Friday the 13th part 3' is a 1982 slasher film from director Steve Minor, who also did part 2. The movie was released as 3D and if you watch it, you can still see how weapons and body parts were supposed to pop-out of the screen. The storyline remains the same: a bunch of youngsters are killed one by one by a psychopath. This third installment continues where part 2 ended and introduces Jason's hockey mask. Not very original anymore, but I have a soft spot for the franchise. Fun to watch before you go camping.
Disfigured Jason Voorhees managed to escape from the campsite massacre and heads for a local grocery shop, where he brutally kills the owners Edna and Harold.
The next day a group of youngsters are on their way with the van to spend some time at a farmhouse near Crystal Lake. None of them are aware of what happened the day before. When Chris arrives with her best friend Debbie, her boyfriend Andy, hippies Chili and Chuck, latina Vera and practical joker Shelly, they intend to have a time full of alcohol, sex and drugs. Three thugs, who had a bad encounter with Vera and Shelly, make their way to the barn as well. But it's not them they should fear. Someone with a lust for blood is watching from the shadows.
