Review of Friday the 13th Part III (1982) by John P — 25 May 2010
First off, Fuck you, Jason, for ruining this horror franchise for me.
Secondly, thank you, Jason, for ruining this horror franchise for me.
I'm still sticking with my 3 star rating, mostly because I watch these for FUN. This one's my favorite out of the Paramount-produced entries. Why?
Well, I can tell the characters apart. Granted, they're all poor characters, but they're more realized than any other bunch in any entry.
The film was supposed to be in 3D, but the DVD doesn't recreate that. So, we're left with a bunch of horribly cheesy yet awesomely funny shots where there are large objects in the foreground (popcorn, baseball bat, an eyeball on two separate occasions). I find this hilarious.
Also, best deaths in the entire thing.
I'm rambling. Yes, this movie's shitty. They all are. But when I sit down to watch a Friday the 13th film, I expect certain things to happen and not happen. I expect a certain quality. So for this (or any other entry) to be poorly made..... Is simply meeting my low expectations.
