Review of Friday the 13th Part III (1982) by Mark N — 28 Apr 2012

The overly jokey style at the start is really off-putting and sets up many of the characters a unlikable cannon fodder. The classic hockey mask, a last minute improvisations, makes its debut and makes the movie somehow far more interesting as it intersects with the later movies.

The sloppy start weighs down but stick it out and the final reels pay off with some decent kills as it slides into slasher mode proper.
