Review of Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) by Dan C — 11 Oct 2008

Im not a huge fan of part 1. Friday the 13th is not the greatest slasher movie. Part 2 is a joke. Its unbelievable. Of course its going to be cheesy. Thats what one expects when watching a slasher. Except for Halloween (the first one).

But this is a level of cheese previously unseen. And things dont make sense. One girl is in the movie just so she can get naked and go swimming. Then she just kind of disappears. In slashers, people dont just disappear, everyone's death is shown.

I swear they just wanted some hot chick to be naked in the movie and then forgot to kill her off. And then, a truckload of people leave the camp to go to a bar. They leave the bar, but the movie ends and they never made it back.

Whats up with that? A whole truckload of people for Jason to kill, but they just ignore them. It was a half-assed attempt to capitalize on a successful movie. I think this one came only a year after the first one.

That explains a lot. Oh yeah, and there are cheesy freeze frames.
