Review of Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) by Jason R — 24 Jan 2011

Maybe a little better than the original (dumb lurking Mrs. Voorhees never seemed very scary), Friday the 13th Part 2 actually is a sequel (the 5 minutes of recap at the beginning demonstrate a real continuation unlike many of the sequels).

Jason seems relatively threatening...he actually plots murders instead of just hacking his way through people. The costume is good--I like the bag head, and Amy Steel puts up an actual fight with relative intelligence (I really wish someone in a horror movie would just hide and stay hidden).

The very ending is dumb (as if it wouldn't be) but there are still genuine scares.
